Dianir, the month when Diacht's power begins to take hold, has begun and the effects of the previous month's rejuvenation have finally worn off. The city is fresh and new with flora and fauna, and the weather begins to turn ever hotter with each passing day as summer begins encroaching upon spring. The natives and new residents alike are adjusting to the first major changes to Havenwell's layout in centuries relatively well, all things considered, with natives slowly and cautiously beginning to expand businesses and homes into the newly opened areas. The temples are abuzz with activity as adherents flock to them, offering praise and words of thanks for the gods and the offworlders, without whom this major step forward would not have been possible.

PROMPT I: Basic Instincts
a man's face in black and white, half-human, half-lion

Randomly and without warning, characters will find that, depending upon the strength of their deity, they may begin exhibiting some...odd qualities associated with their god. Those whose gods are the weakest will find the desire to give in to these qualities are the strongest, bordering on nigh impossible to ignore. Like an itch in the middle of your back that you can't reach, but you're going crazy trying to get it. The longer your character ignores the desire, the stronger it gets. Those whose gods are the strongest will find the urge there and definitely annoyingly loud, but not impossible to ignore for longer periods of time. And what qualities are we talking about? Well, from strongest to weakest, those qualities are...
♥ Ohma (strongest urge): While normally standoffish and languid, this feline god can also cling to things and people at times with an almost obsessive fervor. They need everyone to know that what is theirs belongs to them, and what better way to do that than to mark what is most important to them? People and things adherents of Ohma deem essential or necessary to their lives will find that their Ohma-driven friends are unusually clingy, wanting to hold hands or press up as close as possible to them. It might be hard to go about your day when an Ohma adherent has their arms around your waist, face pressed to your back or chest, unwilling to let go! Another unusual trait to pop up is their hunting instinct. This seems to come out most strongly around the followers of Ainea and Diacht, where Ohma's predatory instincts cause them to play-stalk and play-hunt their fellow offworlders. It's all in good fun though! Give them a tackle or a tag and the urge to 'chase' seems to go away.

♥ Ainea: The little mouse deity is renowned for her compassion and family devotion, but a little known trait of hers is the need to gather. Whether it be people or things, Aineans will find an overwhelming need to pack-rat and hoard as much stuff as possible. Oddly, things that aren't owned by other people already (such as items from stores or museums) hold very little value to them. But that scarf someone else is wearing? Yoink. That person who catches your eye as they walk down the street? Yup. You're going to be gathering everything you can and everything that catches your eye into a central location - be it your home or some other meaningful place to you - in an attempt to bring together a cozy, happy home. Once you've created your perfect little cozy pile, wouldn't it be nice to just dig in and snooze with all of your favoritest things and people? Of course it would! It just might be hard because people tend to want to go about your lives and you? You'd rather they stay right where they are with you.

♥ Diacht: This is the beginning of the avian god's cycle and when their power is beginning to grow incrementally, but that doesn't seem to be excluding them from the chaos. While known for their honesty and honor, Diacht isn't above their more basic instincts. One of which is an almost comical obsession with anything shiny. What's shiny to a Diacht adherent? Well, that depends on each person. It could literally be a bit of tinsel or metal that glints in the bright early summer sun, or it could be a person with whom you've begun to feel a special connection. Diachtians will feel an urge to rush in and snatch up what catches their eye the most, which could put them at odds with both Aineans and Rawnas trying to hold onto their belongings. Beware of the Ohmans who might be stalking you from the shadows, too. If you manage to successfully make off with your latest prize, where better to stash it (or them) than high up, right? You'll be wanting to take over a high perch in town, which might put you into direct confrontation with the Rawnans as you bicker over who really has the right to claim the town fountain, the research towers, or the newly discovered colosseum as their own.

♥ Rawna (weakest urge): Currently the strongest of the deities, adherents of the draconic god will find these urges the easiest to ignore for the longest possible time. The desire is still there, however, and seeing everyone else go buckwild around you might just trigger something deep within: a sense of territorialism. That's your stuff they're taking! And your people! And hey! That's your house! That's your garden and no one else is allowed inside! The urge to protect and keep what's yours for you and you alone is extremely high this month. Sharing is not caring, thank you very much. In fact, it might be easiest to keep an eye on all that you own if you're also the owner of the highest points in town - the town fountain, the research towers, and the newly discovered colosseum. Rawna adherents will find themselves fighting and bickering among themselves and with the Diacht followers to claim ownership of the highest points of land that they can find. Don't be too violent though! No one likes a sore loser. They'll also want to watch out for the Aineans who might just steal that which you hold dearest.

PROMPT II: What'd You Say To Me?
a stack of pancakes with heart-shaped butter and the Simlish language written around it

With the gods so thoroughly distracted by their baser needs, it seems something fairly important to the off-worlders' lives has also gone on the fritz. Randomly throughout the month, characters may find that they suddenly can't understand each other. The universal translation magic that's been holding everything together will randomly cut in and out, like spotty WiFi at a public bus station. You could be in the midst of a conversation and suddenly everything that comes out of your partner's mouth turns to gibberish, or just into their native language which you, unfortunately, don't seem to understand. Speak every language fluently? Have a spell that makes you telepathic? Chances are, it won't work. Whether it's written, spoken, thought or gestured, the language barrier is nigh insurmountable whenever this malady passes over you. Thankfully, as with most things here, if you and your conversation friend decide to touch for awhile, the effects wane and pass on as if nothing had gone wrong at all. Let go and it might come back though, so you best be prepared!

PROMPT III: Gotta Make Money to Spend Money
Clothes in Havenwell for more than just offworlders are starting to become a thing, although the availability of good clothing and custom clothing can still be quite expensive. With natives and non-natives alike trying to vye for the latest fashions and outdo one another for an upcoming competition, what little was available is pretty quickly gone from the shelves, leaving the few tailors in town charging premiums for any new products that are needed. Luckily, the wheels of capitalism don't stop, even in this faraway land, and paid jobs are currently plentiful. If you aren't looking to join in the festivities, don't despair! The dora you earn through these tasks can just as easily be spent on other goods and services as you like. A job board is posted in front of tailors and other shops, advertising the following things that people are willing to pay to get done:
  • Research Towers: Attention, Offworlders! We hear your calls for innovative cuisine! Create a recipe using available ingredients in Havenwell (replicated or not) with a friend and describe it in detail for potential use in future replicator recipes. We only require that you and your friend taste test and be able to describe the taste, texture, and feeling this food gives you. Please deliver your completed recipes to Research Tower East. Edible and named recipes, regardless of whether they are utilized or not, will receive dora in exchange!
  • City Council: Attention, Offworlders! We have heard that "homesickness" is a thing that many people might be experiencing and we have heard you! Please are paying for people to bring us examples of your home cultures - be it stories, plays, history or something else. Dramatic reenactments, video recordings, and physical recreations are preferred.
  • Entertainment District: Attention, Artists! We are experimenting with new synthetic materials that may be useful for your artistic endeavors. Please visit your local museum to pick up a sample pack. Payment for acceptable artistic creations that utilize these new materials in a new and innovative way is being offered. Materials include: new colors of synthetic paints, a more malleable synthetic clay, and a synthetic marble for carving. Offworlder models preferred.
  • Business District: Help Wanted! We are looking for delivery drones. Those interested should contact the delivery center. Requirements: be capable of moving quickly, carrying large loads of cargo, efficient, and safe! We need machinery, building supplies, personal packages and more shipped and delivered across all of Havenwell. Most packages currently awaiting delivery will require a minimum of two people to deliver. For those without transport, we are offering a crash course in piloting our newly minted three-wheeled delivery scooters.

Have fun however you like with the setting! Make a network-style toplevel, make up other prompts based on the general setting, go wild. Havenwell is your oyster.

OH?! YOU CAN HEAR ME?!?

[ Yuuji doesn't really get what the guy meant with 'normally', but he'll jump off the roof and down the ground so he can get up close and personal! Gotta get to know his partner! ]

I take it you wanna join my alliance?!

[personal profile] dontcallmebro 2020-06-23 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Loud and clear - [And he stops immediately realising that saying that was PROBABLY a mistake. Crap. This guy might keep shouting.

Also uh.....this guy is a little too close for his personal liking. Cloud takes a few steps back.]

Ugh. Forget I said that. My point is you're way too damn loud. [Also hang on a sec...]

Wait, what alliance?
hansha: (バッチグー)

[personal profile] hansha 2020-06-23 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah! I get that a lot!

[ He says it so naturally like there’s nothing wrong with it. ]

Heh. Glad you asked! Drumroll, if you please.

[ Whether or not the guy drumrolls for him, Yuuji does his own drumroll with his rolled tongue anyway. ]

Drrrrrrr..... Ding-dong!! Behold, The Super Delivery Duo!!

[ Will Smith pose at the guy!!! Fingers twinkling for extra flair!!! These are pompoms. Whoo! ]

How do you like that?

[ Yuuji doesn’t need to say it, his face says it all: ‘Cool isn’t it?!‘ ]

idk Yuuji's canon but I love him already.

[personal profile] dontcallmebro 2020-06-24 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)

...

........The.....hell....was all that?

All that aside he seems to want assistance in delivering stuff? Cloud thinks that's what he wants, anyway.]
Uh.....the name's weird. [He doesn't know this kid yet and even if he did, the name sounds really uncool!!!!!!]

But if you need a hand, I guess I could help out if you knock it off with the yelling.
hansha: (へへっ)

sdkj;fs ty he's... something!! i'm loving cloud's reactions haha

[personal profile] hansha 2020-06-25 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
[ Weird?! Yuuji eyes widen in surprise as if that's something totally unexpected. But that look quickly changes to a bright smile when he hears what the guy said next. ]

Really?! Awesome! Thank you!!

[ He can be not Loud when he wants to! Maybe. ]

You been here long, ...? Oh. My name is Yuuji Itadori! What's yours?

Re: sdkj;fs ty he's... something!! i'm loving cloud's reactions haha

[personal profile] dontcallmebro 2020-06-25 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[Siiiiiiiiiigh. Hopefully he doesn't regret this.] Cloud Strife.

Nope. Got here not long ago. [And it really sucks!!! But he's trying to put on his big boy pants and make the best of his situation.]

The Delivery Center is this way. [And he points in the direction to indicate LET'S MOVE YUUJI.]
hansha: (バッチグー)

[personal profile] hansha 2020-06-26 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Strife?! ]

Oh!! Like that first person shooting game?! [ That's Counter Strike, Yuuji. ] Strife!! Nice to meet you!!

[ As if his face is not already bright enough with his grin, it's widening from ear to ear now. Strife sure's reliable! He knows places around already! ]

Cool!! Do you always remember your way around places real quick or somethin'? I still get lost when I take the subway back home...

[personal profile] dontcallmebro 2020-06-26 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I......guess? ['Strife'? That sounds like he's being addressed when he was still in SOLDIER but whatever. At least the kid isn't calling him 'bro', which a couple of people insisted on calling him back home even when he told them not to because 'making friends' is weird skill he's struggling to learn.

Anyway, Cloud shrugs.]
It's not that hard. [Well, actually he's still trying to find his way around the whole place but he'll say yes anyway JUST TO LOOK COOL AND PROFESSIONAL.....well, until he's called out on it anyway. He does know his way to the Delivery Center from here anyway so at least he's not completely lying.

Anyway, he starts making his way there, whether or not Yuuji follows. Anyway, since he's been there before and he's done a couple of jobs, he might ask the kid.]
You got any weapons or magic? Some of the places you might be asked to deliver to can be pretty dangerous. Magic vines, that kind of stuff.
hansha: (なんだっけな)

[personal profile] hansha 2020-06-26 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Oh, a cool guy isn't he?! Maybe for people with the brains like Strife and Fushiguro it's pretty easy to map everything in their heads, huh! That makes Yuuji consider the idea of climbing up the higher buildings so he can have a better look of the whole area... Not now, though, of course! They're on a mission! ]

Should probably learn a thing or two from you, then!

[ It's not hard to fool Yuuji since he doesn't know the place well yet either. Like a good dog, he just obediently follows Strife around with a grin in his face. ]

Magic vines... [ Not sure what that is, but uh. ] I... guess I sort of could, but I kinda lost that power when I reached here, haha! [ He doesn't have his cursed energy, at least even if he does have some left, it's so little it won't really mean anything. ] I'm still plenty strong though, I think. If just raw power works, I can fight. [ That makes him curious, though: ] You use magic and stuff? Were you fightin' sumthin' back home?

[personal profile] dontcallmebro 2020-06-28 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[Just as well that Cloud's whole deal is wanting people to think he's cool so he'll just roll with what Yuuji says and at least try to act the part.]

Well, monster vines. They're dangerous all the same.

[And he lost his magic? Well...] As long as you can fight and defend yourself. What about weapons? Or do we need to go and find some first? [He hasn't found any weapon shops yet but he'll just uh......somehow try and pull it of like he does know where they are.

And he smirks in response to the fighting question]
Ex-SOLDIER. Some of the most powerful fighters in my world. [He is so proud of this, even though he'd never work for Shinra again for a billion gil.]

Can use a bit of magic too. [Well, some of his magic Materia disappeared when he came here which sucks but he can cast fire magic and healing magic which is better than nothing.]
hansha: (パアァァ)

[personal profile] hansha 2020-06-28 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Well, Yuuji's the perfect partner of the day, then, because he's: 1) easy to impress 2) will honestly voice that impression out! ]

Huh. [ He can't quite imagine it, but he nods anyway. He'll deal with them when he sees them! ] Nah, I think I'm good... unless we can't beat them without magic? [ Which was the case back home, but he doesn't know what it's like here. ]

Wha, soldier?! That's neat!! So what, you guys fought monsters back home? What kinda magic can you use?! Thunder Fire Powerbomb?!?

[ That's... a pro-wrestler move, Yuuji. ]

[personal profile] dontcallmebro 2020-06-30 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Seen one get killed with a shuriken. [Meaning someone saved his ass earlier but DETAILS!.] But sure, if you're strong enough...[Keep an eye on the guy anyway.]

[Thunder Fire Power.......whut] I've......never heard of that. I've only got Fire and Healing materia so I'll only be able to use that for now.

Hmmm. Might have killed a few monsters here and there. [Does that sound badass enough? DOES IT? DOES IT??????]
hansha: (ほぉー!)

[personal profile] hansha 2020-07-01 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Shuriken! Someone a ninja? There sure are all kinds of people here... Yuuji just hums in response, cuz it sounds like he should be fine, then! ]

Ohhh! I can't wait to see it!!

[ Real fire magic!! And he can heal too!! Cool!!

Had this been a few months ago, he'd just think Strife's one hella delusional guy, but he's already seen many things-- no, too many things, for him to dismiss the possibility of it. ]

You must be pretty strong, then! What are the monsters like?

[ Other than cursed spirits, monsters exist too, huh. Maybe not in his side of the world but in Strife's? Heck, is Strife even from Japan? Doesn't seem like it but they're understanding each other? He's speaking Japanese right? ???? So many question marks. ]

[personal profile] dontcallmebro 2020-07-12 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Okay, that's a weird question. Well, in Cloud's point of view since he's from a fantasy world.] Depends on the monster. There are hundreds of different types.

[And as they are talking, they come towards the place for deliveries.] There it is. Can you carry heavy stuff?
hansha: (すんげ)

[personal profile] hansha 2020-07-13 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hundreds! Haha, like in video games, huh?

[ He jokes (ha... haha), but only because he can relate. Mostly. ]

Yeah! It should be easy 's long they aren't any heavier than a car, 'cuz I've never tried anything more before... I might be able to, though?

[ When the robots notice them, he'll come up to them with a friendly grin. ]

Sup! We're here to do the deliveries!

[ They lead them to where they keep the packages in, patting two large-sized boxes for them to carry across the town. Both packages are fragile, so be careful, they said. Before leaving the two to their own devices, they also point out that the two can borrow one of the three-wheeled scooters parked nearby for ease of transport! ]

Never ridden a bike before, but I can give it a go! How 'bout you, Strife?
